Dypsis baronii, commonly known as Sugar Cane Palm, from the mountains of Madagascar, is a really stunning specimen for smaller gardens, or as a smaller dramatic palm in a larger garden. Admired for its clean, multi stemmed appearance, this palm displays red/purple stems when young, changing to green/yellow when mature. The arching trunks and feather like fronds which form this palm give it a classic tropical look. Best in a sheltered, shaded site, however it can take full sun as well. A slow grower gaining 20cm yearly in height. Tolerant of light frost. Mature height to 3m.
